THICHTOURS – Quy Nhon Private Tour

Thich Tours - Make It Memorable!

QUY NHON - A JOURNEY THROUGH NATURE, HERITAGE & AUTHENTIC LOCAL EXPERIENCES.

Stories of the land. Experiences shaped by people. Journeys made memorable by the details.

1. THE STORY OF QUY NHON.

A land shaped over a thousand years - Quy Nhon Private Tour.

Quy Nhon today is a gateway into the story of a land that has been unfolding for more than a thousand years.

By around the 10th century, the foundations of Vijaya were beginning to take shape across the wider Quy Nhon region, eventually becoming one of the most important centres of the Champa Kingdom.

Its rise was closely connected to the geography of the land itself.

The sea opened Quy Nhon to the wider maritime world. Thi Nai Lagoon became a natural gateway between the ocean and the interior, while the Kon River carried people, goods and cultural influences deeper inland.

Together, sea, lagoon and river formed a natural corridor – one that encouraged trade, movement and encounters between different peoples and cultures for centuries.

Along this landscape, red-brick Cham towers rose from plains and hilltops. More than architectural landmarks, they became expressions of spirituality, belief and the worldview of a civilization that left a profound mark on this part of Central Vietnam.

After the 15th century, the region entered another chapter as Vietnamese communities increasingly settled, cultivated and shaped their lives across the land.

But culture did not begin again from zero. New traditions grew upon layers that were already here.

Then, in the early 17th century, the sea brought another encounter to Quy Nhon.

At Nuoc Man, a trading settlement connected to the Thi Nai area, Western Jesuit missionaries arrived to establish missions and learn Vietnamese. Working alongside local Vietnamese speakers, they began experimenting with ways to capture the sounds and tones of the language using the Latin alphabet.

Between approximately 1618 and 1622, Nuoc Man became associated with one of the earliest stages in the development of what would later become Chu Quoc Ngu – the modern Romanized Vietnamese writing system.

More than two centuries later, the story continued at Lang Song, where printing activities helped bring the script into wider circulation.

The same natural routes that once carried ships and merchandise had also become pathways for language, religion, ideas and cultural exchange.

Along the Kon River basin and the countryside surrounding it, another kind of heritage was taking shape – quieter, more intimate and rooted in everyday life.

There is Bau Da rice wine, where knowledge has been passed through generations of local families. There are rice-paper villages, where grains from the surrounding fields are transformed into delicate sheets and dried beneath the tropical sun. And there is Phu Gia horse conical hat village, where artisans continue an intricate craft that carries a distinctive identity of the region.

These villages produce more than objects. They preserve family memory, community knowledge and ways of living that have survived through generations.

Across the same cultural landscape, traditional martial arts became one of the region’s most distinctive living traditions. Alongside them grew Tuong classical theatre, Bai Choi, village customs and a spiritual life connected with communal houses, Buddhist temples, ancient towers, ancestors and the sea.

These traditions do not belong only to the past:

  • Martial arts are still passed from masters to students.
  • Crafts are still practised within families.
  • Tuong and Bai Choi continue through the people who preserve and perform them.
  • Spiritual traditions remain woven into everyday community life.
  • And eventually, the story returns to nature – where it all began.

Off the coast of Quy Nhon, beaches, islands and coral waters invite travelers to swim, snorkel, paddle and experience the sea from within.

At Thi Nai Lagoon, mangrove ecosystems, aquatic life, wild birds and communities living with the tides reveal another side of the destination – one that can be discovered through ecological journeys and meaningful encounters with local life.

Across sandy coastal landscapes, modern wind turbines now rise on the horizon.

More than a thousand years ago, geography helped open routes for trade and shaped a cultural centre. Today, wind, sea and other natural resources are becoming part of another chapter – a story of energy, change and development.

The story of Quy Nhon, therefore, does not belong to a single beach, tower or village.

It is the story of a sea leading into a lagoon, rivers leading toward heritage, encounters creating cultural exchange, villages carrying family memories, martial arts schools still alive with practice, and communities continuing to live alongside nature every day.

A land opened by nature, shaped by history and continuously written by its people for more than a thousand years.

2. THE THICHTOURS SIGNATURE.

Five years of turning local stories into meaningful experiences - Quy Nhon Private Tour.

A journey becomes truly memorable when travelers do more than see a destination - when they are invited to step into its stories, meet its people and experience the life within it.

In 2021, THICHTOURS began with this simple belief.

That belief led us beyond the familiar landmarks. We began looking toward craft villages, fishing communities, lagoons, cultural spaces and local families quietly preserving different pieces of Quy Nhon’s identity.

We chose to create journeys that were smaller, more private and more personal.

Not simply taking travelers to a craft village, but introducing them to the person keeping the craft alive.

Not simply standing in front of an ancient tower, but understanding the civilization behind it.

Not simply admiring the sea, but stepping into the water, paddling a SUP, snorkeling above coral gardens and getting closer to the communities whose lives are connected to the coast.

Not simply crossing a lagoon, but learning to experience it according to the rhythm of the tides.

Our role is to become a better bridge - between the land and the traveler, and between the people preserving local traditions and those who genuinely want to understand the place they are visiting.

Along the way, we have learned that professionalism often lives in the smallest details.

  • Knowing the tide before an experience begins.
  • Checking the weather before taking guests to sea.
  • Preparing the right safety equipment.
  • Knowing when an itinerary needs to change.
  • Protecting the coral reefs we depend on for tourism.
  • Choosing the right local person to tell the right story.
  • Caring for every traveler in a way that helps an unfamiliar destination feel safe and welcoming.

This approach has helped a young local company gradually earn the trust of leading resorts and hotels in Quy Nhon, as well as travel partners across Vietnam and overseas.

Five years may not be a long journey.

When travel is created with understanding and respect, a journey can leave more than memories for the traveler - it can also leave something meaningful behind for the place that made those memories possible.

3. OUR EXPERIENCE COLLECTION.

Five ways to enter the story of Quy Nhon. Quy Nhon Private tour.

01. SEA & ISLAND EXPERIENCES.

The beauty of Quy Nhon does not end at the shoreline.

Some of its most fascinating landscapes lie offshore and beneath the surface – among islands, secluded beaches, coral gardens and coastal waters that change with the seasons.

Around Bai Dua, clear water reveals some of the region’s most appealing coral environments. First-time snorkelers can experience this underwater world from the surface, while travelers looking for something deeper may choose scuba diving or seawalker experiences.

Swimming, SUP and other water activities offer different ways to enjoy the coast at a slower pace.

Each marine area has its own character. Hon Kho combines island scenery, coral experiences and the seasonal appearance of golden-brown seaweed forests beneath the water. Further offshore, Hon Dat offers a more remote atmosphere – an uninhabited island where snorkeling, swimming and quiet stretches of beach create the feeling of stepping away from the city altogether.

Marine experiences are naturally shaped by season, visibility, wind and sea conditions. For THICHTOURS, a great day on the water is therefore not simply about choosing the right destination. It is about choosing the right place, the right activity and the right moment for each traveler.

02. LAGOON & ECO EXPERIENCES.

If the sea feels open and expansive, Thi Nai Lagoon reveals a quieter side of Quy Nhon – one shaped by mangroves, tides and communities that have lived with the water for generations.

Across the lagoon are wetland ecosystems, aquaculture areas, wild birds and small settlements where daily life continues to follow the rhythm of the tide.

At Con Chim, travelers can journey across the lagoon by local boat, paddle SUP around mangrove areas, discover the ecosystem and learn about traditional livelihoods connected with fishing and aquaculture.

Here, nature is not simply a background for the experience. The tide influences departure times, local livelihoods, activities and even the order in which a day unfolds.

No two visits need to feel exactly the same – and that is part of the experience.

THICHTOURS wants travelers to go beyond simply visiting Con Chim. We want them to understand how a lagoon ecosystem works, how communities adapt to it and why protecting the environment also means protecting the livelihoods of the people who depend on it.

03. HERITAGE & LIVING CULTURE.

Quy Nhon is a gateway into more than a thousand years of overlapping cultural stories.

From Vijaya and the Champa civilization, ancient red-brick towers still rise across plains and hilltops, carrying traces of architecture, spirituality and belief from another era.

Yet heritage here does not exist only in monuments.

Across generations, the region has continued to preserve traditions that remain part of everyday cultural life – Binh Dinh traditional martial arts, Tuong classical theatre, Bai Choi, village temples, Buddhist spaces, local beliefs and the story of East-West encounters connected with Nuoc Man, Lang Song and the early development of Chu Quoc Ngu.

A cultural journey should therefore be more than arriving at a monument, hearing a few dates and moving on. The richer experience lies in understanding the relationship between past and present – between an ancient tower and the landscape surrounding it, between Champa and the cultural layers that followed, and between a martial tradition passed down for generations and the people who still practise it today.

Here, history is not simply remembered. It is still alive.

04. CRAFT VILLAGES & LOCAL LIFE.

Leave the city behind and follow the countryside around the Kon River basin, and another Quy Nhon begins to appear.

Here, the story of the land is preserved not in grand monuments, but in hands, kitchens, courtyards and the work people continue to do every day.

There is Bau Da rice wine, made through knowledge carried by local families. There are rice-paper villages, where rice is ground, spread into thin sheets and dried beneath the sun. And in Phu Gia, artisans continue the intricate craft of the traditional horse conical hat.

Yet the most meaningful part of visiting a craft village is rarely the finished product. It is meeting the person behind it, watching each step of the process, hearing family stories and understanding why someone still chooses to continue the same work once practised by their parents and grandparents.

Countryside journeys can also unfold by bicycle or motorbike, moving slowly through fields, markets and smaller village roads.

For THICHTOURS, a craft village is not simply a stop to buy souvenirs. It is a place to meet the people carrying part of the destination’s memory – and to help ensure those traditions continue to be seen, appreciated and passed forward.

05. FOOD & LOCAL DISCOVERY.

One of the easiest ways to understand Quy Nhon is to eat what local people eat and spend time in the places they return to every day.

The city’s food reflects its relationship with the sea, countryside, craft villages and everyday rhythms.

It may begin with a hot rice pancake straight from the pan, grilled local specialties, seafood, something found inside a neighborhood market or simply a coffee late in the afternoon.

A food journey is not about tasting as many dishes as possible. It is about asking where an ingredient comes from, when local people eat a certain dish, why a simple restaurant remains busy year after year, and how an everyday flavor becomes part of the memory of a city.

Local discovery goes beyond the dining table. There are markets, backstreets, quieter corners outside the usual sightseeing routes, sunrise and sunset hikes, and motorbike journeys that allow travelers to experience the landscape at an entirely different rhythm.

This collection is for people who want to slow down, stay curious and pay attention to the small things. Because sometimes a meal, a conversation or an unnamed road becomes the memory that stays longest.

06. QUY NHON PRIVATE MOTORBIKE TOURS.

For travelers who want to feel closer to the landscape and everyday local life, selected experiences can be operated by private motorbike with a local driver.

Motorbikes bring greater flexibility and allow journeys to move naturally through village roads, countryside and smaller local spaces that can feel very different from the window of a car.

OUR RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Champa & Craft Villages by Motorbike.
  • Countryside & Local Life by Motorbike.
  • Quy Nhon Food by Motorbike.
  • Thi Nai & Peninsula Discovery by Motorbike.

4. 7 MUST-TRY EXPERIENCES IN QUY NHON.

Seven journeys. Seven ways to experience the story of Quy Nhon.of Quy Nhon. Quy Nhon Private tour.

01. KY CO & EO GIO PRIVATE BOAT TRIP AND SNORKELING.

Ky Co and Eo Gio reveal one of Quy Nhon’s most striking coastal landscapes.

From the rocky slopes of Eo Gio, the journey opens toward Ky Co, where clear blue water, pale sand and dramatic cliffs create a perfect setting for a day by the sea.

But the experience goes beyond the beach. The surrounding waters also invite travelers to discover Quy Nhon beneath the surface through snorkeling, scuba diving, seawalker experiences and other marine activities.

Whether you prefer to relax onshore or explore the underwater world, Ky Co offers a beautiful balance of scenery and adventure.

A journey to see, feel and experience Quy Nhon from the coast to the coral below.

02. THE CORAL GARDENS OF HON KHO SNORKELING & ISLAND ADVENTURE.

The journey to Hon Kho begins through Nhon Hai fishing village before heading offshore to a small island where travelers can swim, relax and enjoy the sea.

The experience continues at the THICHTOURS coral platform, where guests can snorkel, paddle SUP and spend time above clear coastal waters.

During seaweed season, golden-brown seaweed forests appear beneath the surface, creating a completely different underwater landscape for a limited time each year.

Hon Kho is more than an island visit.

It is a day to swim, paddle, snorkel and slow down with the sea, while discovering the natural beauty of Quy Nhon in a more personal and active way.

03. LEGENDS OF CHAMPA & HIDDEN HANDICRAFT VILLAGES.

Travel inland from Quy Nhon and different layers of heritage begin to appear.

At Banh It Towers, ancient red-brick architecture opens the story of Champa and the world of Vijaya.

The journey then moves into local villages, where heritage continues through everyday life. In the Bau Da rice-wine community, traditional knowledge survives within local families. At Phu Gia, artisans still create the distinctive horse conical hat through skills passed down over generations.

One part of the journey is written in ancient towers.

The other lives in the hands of people working today.

Together, they reveal that heritage is not only something preserved from the past – it can still be alive within a family, a craft and a village.

04. CON CHIM ECOZONE MANGROVE & LOCAL LIFE EXPERIENCE.

Hidden within Thi Nai Lagoon, Con Chim is shaped by mangroves, tides and communities whose livelihoods remain connected to the water.

Travelers journey across the lagoon by local boat before exploring a quieter world of mangrove areas, aquaculture and everyday local life.

Depending on the experience, guests may paddle SUP, try fishing or take part in traditional activities such as setting and lifting crab traps.

But nature sets the rhythm here.

The tide may change the journey. Wildlife appears on its own schedule. Local life continues naturally around you.

That is what makes Con Chim special.

It is not simply a place to visit, but an opportunity to understand how nature, livelihood and community continue to depend on one another.

05. TASTE OF QUY NHON A CULINARY JOURNEY THROUGH THE CITY.

One of the best ways to understand Quy Nhon is to eat where local people do.

This journey moves through everyday flavors – freshly cooked rice pancakes, grilled specialties, seafood, street food, coffee and local desserts.

But the experience is not about eating as many dishes as possible.

Each stop offers a glimpse into the city: why people love a certain dish, when they eat it, where the ingredients come from and why a simple local restaurant can remain popular for generations.

Between kitchens, markets and small neighborhood tables, food becomes a way to understand everyday life.

For a few hours, you are not simply tasting Quy Nhon – you are experiencing the city through the way its people eat.

06. BINH DINH CULTURE & HISTORY TOUR MARTIAL HERITAGE & CULTURAL DISCOVERY.

This journey explores a region shaped by history, martial spirit and cultural heritage.

At the Quang Trung Museum, travelers enter an important chapter of Vietnamese history and discover one of the region’s most distinctive living traditions – Binh Dinh traditional martial arts.

The story then travels further back at the Duong Long Cham Towers, before continuing into the spiritual atmosphere of Thap Thap Pagoda.

Different periods of history meet within the same landscape: Champa heritage, Vietnamese history, martial traditions and Buddhism.

More than visiting historical sites, the journey offers a deeper look into the traditions, beliefs and values that have helped shape the character of the land and its people.

07. NIGHT OF THE FISHERMEN SUNSET & SQUID FISHING EXPERIENCE.

As the sun sets over Quy Nhon, another side of coastal life begins.

From Nhon Ly, travelers board a local fishing boat and head offshore as daylight slowly disappears.

At night, guests can try squid fishing, learn how fishermen prepare their equipment and discover how weather, tides and patience have always shaped life at sea.

A light seafood meal on a floating platform adds to the atmosphere – less like dining in a restaurant and more like sharing part of an evening with a fishing community.

And the sea never guarantees a catch.

That uncertainty is part of the experience.

This is not simply squid fishing. It is a small window into the life of Quy Nhon’s fishermen after sunset.

You are never on your own.

Before your journey, during the experience and whenever something unexpected happens, a local THICHTOURS team is there to support you and coordinate with guides, drivers and partners when needed.

Most THICHTOURS journeys are operated privately for greater flexibility and personal attention. Certain local transport or specialist activities may operate according to the practical conditions of the destination.

THE RIGHT EXPERIENCE AT THE RIGHT TIME.

Every experience has its own best time and natural rhythm. Sea conditions, tides, seasonal seaweed, weather, craft production and community routines can all influence what is possible on a particular day. Specific operating periods and recommendations are provided within each individual tour description.

NATURE SETS THE RHYTHM.

The sea, wind, weather and tides are part of travel in Quy Nhon. Departure times, activity sequences or individual stops may occasionally be adjusted according to actual conditions. Flexibility does not mean compromising the experience. It means knowing when to adapt so the journey remains safe, comfortable and worthwhile.

Appropriate equipment, activity briefings and assessment of real-time conditions are always prioritized. For children, older travelers or guests with particular health considerations, THICHTOURS can recommend a more suitable way to experience the journey.

Guests are asked not to operate personal drones or flycams during THICHTOURS journeys. Where aerial photography is available as part of an operated experience, this will be clearly stated within the individual tour description.

CASH CAN BE USEFUL

Cards and digital payment methods are increasingly common, but cash remains useful in some craft villages, local markets, fishing communities and community-based experience areas. We recommend carrying a reasonable amount of Vietnamese Dong for small personal expenses. If needed, your guide or driver can assist with a stop at a convenient ATM along the route.

BOOKING INFORMATION.

To confirm your reservation and arrange the necessary services, please provide: Full Name · Date of Birth · Nationality · Passport Number. Certain programs may require additional information for insurance or specific operational arrangements. THICHTOURS will advise you if anything further is needed.

RESPECT THE PLACE YOU VISIT.

Please do not touch or stand on coral. Leave no waste behind. Respect the daily lives and privacy of local communities. Craft villages, fishing communities and local homes are not stages created for tourism. Activities may naturally change according to season, weather, tides and the real rhythm of community life.
